Shakira’s Unstoppable Journey: A Deep Dive into Her Latest Album After Overcoming Personal Turmoil

hakira’s most recent album drop represents a major milestone in her journey, especially following her breakup with soccer player Gerard Pique. The artist, who is currently sharing her new music with fans, has been open about her personal experiences, frequently mentioning Pique in her conversations.

During a recent chat with The Times, Shakira discussed her 12-year love story with Pique, sharing, “I made sacrifices in my career to support Gerard in pursuing his passion for football.”

While chatting with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Shakira talked about the reasons behind the delay in dropping her latest album. She mentioned that her relationship with Pique was a contributing factor as it took up a lot of her time. With her newfound freedom after the split, she is now able to fully concentrate on her music. The title of Shakira’s new album is “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (“Women Don’t Cry Anymore”) and it marks her return to the music scene after seven years since her last release.

The inspiration for the title comes from a powerful line in Shakira and Bizarrap’s track “Music Sessions Vol. 53.” Discussing the overall theme of the album, Shakira highlighted the importance of allowing men to show their vulnerability and shed tears. She emphasized that society has long dictated that women should be the ones to cry, forcing them to hide their pain from both their children and the rest of the world.

Even though juggling her career with the responsibilities of being a single mom can be tough, Shakira is feeling inspired to dive back into creating music. “I’m ready to get to work. I’m excited to start writing songs. I feel a new energy that’s driving me forward.” While tackling this fresh phase in her life, Shakira stays dedicated to her kids, recognizing, “My children rely on me, and being a single parent means there’s no one else around to lend a hand.”
